My first web1 domain was launched during January 2000 which was way-back during the pioneering period of the world wide web. More of my web1 site later on the WOODART page.
The digital world of today is a whole lot different than it was back then at the beginning of this century.Serious DSLR (digital) photographers, and I claim to be one, now carry a laptop/notebook and extra hard-drive storage along with their extra bodies, array of lenses and more traditional gear.
Technically speaking and to quote photographer Andy Rouse "The D3 has amazing ISO performance, produces images with a beautiful dynamic range and has the best AF system seen in a Nikon DSLR so far". So after all these years I have become seriously keen on photography and beginning to get the results I had previously only dreamed of. |
'Art and the sea around the British Isles' is my working title for my diverse sets of photographic images at rogerplant.com
A large proportion of this web site comprises a diverse photographic journal of my travels around the coastline and visits to a number of the islands around the British Isles. For many years I have collected beach combings and found objects from sources such as de-commissioned,broken-up,Cornish fishing boats. In addition to my photo-journalism I produce frottage (graphite rubbings or drawings and small-scale sculptures using mixed media. Often I use found objects in conjunction with traditional artist media, such as paints and graphite. This form of expression informed by my experience in the everyday life and combining different elements of art, for me.is a flexible means of expression. And I think the term for this is Phenomenology.
