How will our younger generation know what bio-diversity we have lost from this densely populated island of ours without visual aids, in the form of photographic records, to show to them.
The aim of this gallery is to bring together some visual evidence to present here, in a non-scientific manner, snapshots of past to compare with present. With help and perhaps using images loaned I can present the visual evidence here before it is too late.
The Elm tree is just one magnificent example of all that has disappeared from ” a green and pleasant land”. There is a growing awareness and sense of responsibility, within my generation, to show to a young generation some examples of such losses. Here, where possible, I wish to show much of what remains. It is of great concern to me and to others of my generation that younger generations will grow up unaware of the changes and losses which have taken place, in the landscape, since WW2 . The nature of our losses and also of what remains will be a strong element within the visual content of these galleries..
